Who was Florence Lawrence and what did she invent?

Florence Lawrence, an actress and car enthusiast, was responsible for two inventions that would make a positive impact on the automotive industry:

1. “Auto-Signaling Arms” or as we know them, turn signals
2. An early concept of brake lights

Since Lawrence’s push to implement safety measures in 1914, the automotive industry has made it a main focus, including Mercedes-Benz, who has been a pioneer in safety.
