Boss’s Day!

In honor of Boss’s Day this month, we decided to do a different kind of blog. We were lucky enough to be able to catch up with the General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Of Ontario, Mr. Ted Moreno! We took this chance to ask him a few questions we were interested in knowing.

•Have you always had an interest in the automotive industry?

Yes, from the very early age of 7. According to my grandparents, I would ride in the car talking about cars nonstop and pointing out different makes and models. They were impressed with the amount of knowledge I had for my age and they really enjoyed it when I would point out specific vehicles stating I would own one someday. My first position in the car industry occurred accidently while I was working for Nordstrom and attending college. After my first month I knew this was a business that I felt I could make a difference.

• How many years have you been with Fletcher Jones?

This month marks my third year anniversary with Fletcher Jones. I have been in the business for 27 years. Wow does time fly……

• What’s your favorite Mercedes-Benz?
This is a tough question as there are so many great vehicles to choose from. For the everyday commute I prefer a Mercedes-Benz C 300 sport package, which is a comfortable and great driving car. When it is time to play or go out on the weekends my choice would be a Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe or an Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet.

• What makes a great day at work?
A great day at the dealership and the most rewarding part of my job is seeing my team excel in delivering a truly exceptional guest experience. To deliver consistently on this expectation it takes a team effort and every position in the store plays an important role in the overall team’s success. I am blessed to have such a great group of people who work very hard to deliver their best every day.

• What do you think makes a great leader?
A great leader is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, set a great example, and be side by side with their team members. A good leader also finds out how to bring out the best in their team members in the most positive way possible.

• What are some of the major accomplishments you’ve made in your position?
I have had the opportunity to assemble a great team with a fantastic culture. Our team has earned the Best of The Best Award for the past two years in a row and also is a proud recipient of the Mercedes-Benz Employee Choice, Best Dealerships to Work For Award. I am so proud of what our team has been able to accomplish in regards to overall growth in the short four years of operation.

• What are your hobbies outside of work?
My time outside of the store involves spending time with my family. I have two children, ten nieces and nephews, and two dogs that I enjoy spending time with. Also I enjoy cooking and rooting for my favorite baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
