Mercedes-Benz vs. Lexus: Which Is Better?

silver glc

Lexus and Mercedes-Benz are two of the most well-known brands in the luxury car space. Nevertheless, the Mercedes-Benz brand’s reliability and reputation can’t be duplicated. On the whole, Mercedes-Benz models offer higher performance capabilities, unique interior features as standard, and greater efficiency than Lexus models. We compare the two brands side by side for Rancho Cucamonga drivers below to show them why Mercedes-Benz is truly a one-of-a-kind brand.

Mercedes-Benz vs. Lexus: Warranty

Both Mercedes-Benz and Lexus back up your new car with a 4-year/50,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, so no matter which brand you choose, you’ll have peace of mind on Fontana roads. One of the ways that a Mercedes-Benz vehicle stands apart from a Lexus is that all new, certified pre-owned, and pre-owned Mercedes-Benz models are eligible for Prepaid Maintenance, which allows you to service your vehicle now and pay for it later. This can take the stress out of maintaining your Mercedes-Benz vehicle and isn’t something offered with BMW.

Mercedes-Benz vs. Lexus: Certified Pre-Owned Program

When you buy a certified pre-owned vehicle from Mercedes-Benz, you’ll enjoy additional benefits that you wouldn’t with a Lexus CPO vehicle. For example, unlike Lexus, the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned Program comes with a 7-day/500-mile Exchange Privilege in the event that you change your mind. What’s more, Mercedes-Benz inspects its certified pre-owned vehicles more vigorously. While Lexus models must pass a 161-point inspection, Mercedes-Benz CPO vehicles are required to pass a 165-point inspection in order to be considered certified pre-owned.

With a Mercedes-Benz certified pre-owned vehicle, if a driver breaks down more than 100 miles from home, Mercedes-Benz will reimburse any travel expenses, up to $300 per day for three days. Lexus has a similar program, but it only covers up to $200 per day.

Mercedes-Benz vs. Lexus: Price

When it comes to price, Lexus has a lower starting price than Mercedes-Benz, but not by much. Here are the lowest starting prices for each brand:

Mercedes-Benz Lowest-Priced Model

  • 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLA SUV: $37,500 MSRP*

Lexus Lowest-Priced Model

  • 2024 BMW 2 Series: $36,690 MSRP

While Lexus might have a lower starting price on its least expensive model, it’ll become apparent for Chino drivers why Mercedes-Benz is still the more desirable brand, offering exclusive technology features, performance capabilities, and a whole lot more.

Mercedes-Benz vs. Lexus: Sedans

When it comes to sedans, Mercedes-Benz has a little bit more variety than Lexus. Mercedes-Benz vehicles are usually a little more fuel-efficient than Lexus vehicles. To give Corona drivers a good idea of how Mercedes-Benz and Lexus sedans shape up against each other, we’ve compared two popular models below:

Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe vs. Lexus IS

  • Cargo Space: The Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe offers 11.6 cubic feet of cargo space while the Lexus IS only offers 10.8 cubic feet.

  • Fuel Economy: The Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe has a fuel economy rating of 26 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. The Lexus IS has a fuel economy rating of 21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class vs. Lexus LS

Mercedes-Benz vs. Lexus: EV Technology

Lexus has plenty of electric and hybrid models to choose from in its lineup, but when it comes to the Mercedes-Benz All-Electric lineup, Lexus just doesn’t compare. Mercedes-Benz All-Electric vehicles give Inland Empire drivers access to a network of over 60,000 charging stations in the country. Plus, the Mercedes me Charge system helps you find nearby charging stations, and choosing the Mercedes-Benz EQE gets you 30-minute charging sessions complimentary at any Electrify America DC fast charger station for two years!

Additionally, the model with the highest amount of electric driving range in the lineup, the Mercedes-Benz EQS, allows you to get up to 350 miles of driving on a single charge!
